The World Around Us: Our Term 2 Outdoor Classroom in Petersham offers a calm and engaging outdoor experience for toddlers through to preschool-aged children. Children thrive when they feel safe, connected, and supported to explore at their own pace. Our Outdoor Classroom isn’t just a class, it’s a thoughtfully designed learning journey. Across our sessions, children grow familiar with the space, form friendships, and deepen their engagement with play, curiosity, and creativity. Running fortnightly, these sessions follow a gentle, play-based approach, with themes that connect children to nature, community, and their everyday environment. Sessions are relaxed and flexible, allowing children to explore freely, follow their interests, and engage in play at their own pace. Each session includes sensory play, loose parts, creative experiences and opportunities to engage in STEM play. Session Themes: Session 1: Australia – Our Country (27 April) Exploring the colours, textures, and natural elements that make up our Australian landscape. Session 2: Senses in Nature (11 May) Engaging all five senses through hands-on exploration of natural materials. Session 3: Weather & Change (25 May) Exploring how weather shapes our environment through sensory and creative play. Session 4: People & Places (15 June) Exploring community, connection, and the spaces that bring people together. Session 5: Discover & Create / End of Term Celebration (29 June) An open-ended session to create, explore, and celebrate the term together. Location: Petersham Park When: Mondays (fortnightly) Time: 10:00 – 11:30am Special offer (Week 1): Bring a friend for free “The family you’re bringing must be new to our sessions. Please let us know the name and age of the additional child when booking.” *Please note there is no session on 8 June due to the public holiday. Booking Options • $30 per child casual session (1 Single Child) • $45 family casual session (Family is 2 or more children participating in the class) Siblings under 12months are welcome to join our session free, just make a note on the booking.
