Service Description

Our Outdoor Classroom Learning Journey runs across eight fortnightly sessions, supporting connection, confidence, and natural learning through play. Held in Petersham park. The journey begins by building relationships, creating belonging, and discovering each child’s interests. As sessions progress, experiences adapt in response to the children, allowing learning to unfold naturally rather than following set themes. Each session follows a familiar and supportive rhythm, including a group welcome, extended child-led play, and a closing group time. This consistency helps children feel safe, settled, and ready to explore. Session Overview: SESSION 1: Welcome & Belonging A gentle introduction focused on connection, routines, and settling into the space. Children explore familiar, open-ended materials while building relationships and confidence. SESSION 2: Identity & Self-Expression Children explore who they are through creative play, movement, and sensory-rich experiences that encourage confidence and self-expression. SESSION 3: Exploring Materials Children investigate a variety of open-ended materials, experimenting with how things feel, move, connect, and change. SESSION 4: Problem-Solving & Thinking Children are encouraged to think, test ideas, and revisit challenges through building, sorting, and collaborative play. Mid-Learning Journey Pause A planned pause allows families time to rest and children time to process and revisit their learning before continuing the journey. SESSION 5: Imagination & Storytelling Open-ended play supports children to create stories, role play, and bring ideas to life using loose parts, small worlds, and creative materials. SESSION 6: Movement & The Body A focus on physical exploration through large-scale play that supports coordination, confidence, and body awareness. SESSION 7: Working Together Children explore cooperation and shared play through group projects, building together, and negotiating ideas with others. SESSION 8: Reflection & Celebration A relaxed session to revisit favourite materials, reflect on the journey, and celebrate learning, growth, and connections formed Booking Options We offer both casual bookings and Learning Journey packages to suit your family - Children can join at any stage of the learning. • $30 per child casual class • $50 family casual class
